| Being a huge RVD fan, I'm glad he's taking another hiatus.
What's the point of signing up respected vets like Van Dam and Jericho, and then booking them to lose every match they're in?

| Because people like RVD and Jericho, and they draw. And all they do when they come back is put over new talent, so what's the problem? | |

The problem is that they have no credibility at this point. When RVD loses a match it does nothing to benefit his opponent, 'cause he loses every single week on Raw.

But it doesn't matter to most people (non-internet fans) because RVD is a memorable wrestler who always puts on a good show. To us he loses credibility but everyone else doesn't give a shit.

While that's true, a lot of non-internet fans would've noticed he's only won two Raw matches in the last year and a half. Rob actually admitted in an interview that he does nothing to benefit the younger talent due to the way he's being used. Rob COULD draw and be beneficial to the company if they invested better booking into him, but right now he's nothing more than a glorified jobber in my opinion.

| In my opinion, you can't really be used to put people over if you're not winning to prove that you are still a worthy competitor. For example, Cesaro beating RVD means nothing for Cesaro if Rob is on a 69 match losing streak. | |

| They have the right idea with guys like RVD (who's way past it anyway but that's a different discussion) and Y2J but they just aren't executing it right. When these guys return from their breaks they should be given something pretty big. Obviously not to become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion but an example would be back in the brand-split days have Y2J return and make a big push for the WHC perhaps even winning it in a transitional reign. Then when he loses it to whoever, the next guy that feuds and go over him would be getting a rub. That's just one example. You could have RVD come back and go on a 12-15 match winning streak (wouldn't take more than two months of build with all the shows) it can be against the likes of Titus O'Neil and Zack Ryder and maybe throw one or two more credible guys like Swagger or Kingston in and then have him come out and cut a simple promo about how he's been on a roll (as per ) since his return. Have a young, upstart heel come out and say he guarantee he'll end his winning streak. Next week have the heel attack RVD after his match. Boom, decent PPV match sorted and the young heel will get a decent rub for ending RVD's winning streak. | |

If they used these guys as transitionaly champs I wouldn't have a problem with them putting people over. I like those ideas, Adam. WWE should listen to you.
